Greater Good Youth Organization (GGYO) is a non-profit dedicated to aid the organizations that serve children and their dreams of achievement. GGYO helps these organizations raise funds through fun, innovative methods that benefit children emotionally, physically as well as educationally. GGYO helps children find the greater good within themselves through service. Coach William (“Jay”) Johnson established GGYO in 2000 as a way to raise money for school sports programs, community sports clubs, and his 4th grade AAU team. This team won the AAU Nationals in the summer of 2000. GGYO has since evolved and blossomed into a fundraising vehicle that schools and/or organizations can use in conjunction with sports camps, clinics and events to benefit the needs of those schools and other non-profit organizations.
Coach Johnson is the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Seattle Lutheran High School in West Seattle, Area Director for Youth Basketball of America (YBOA), and Athletic Director and PE Teacher at Eastside Christian School in Bellevue. He has coached for over 19 years (both overseas and in the US). Additionally, Coach Johnson was a Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach in the DeKalb County School System in Georgia. He coached at Stone Mountain High School and Cross Keys High School compiling a record of 101 wins in five years. Coach Johnson has run different basketball camps for more than 10 years. He has coached over 20 college-level basketball players. Coach Johnson believes in the all-around basketball system in which players are able to shoot, dribble, defend, pass and hustle.
